Yes there are many.

From the contemporary scholars

Sayed Kathim al-Ha’iri (also known as Ayatullah al-Ha’iri) A video of Sayed Kathim talking about the 12 Mahdis (pbut) and their realities, and how there is absolutely no problems with this concept. He bases a lot of his research with the Will of Prophet Muhammad (pbuhap). It is in Arabic but if you click the Subtitles/Captions button on the bottom right then English translation text will appear

Sheikh al-Korani (also known as Ayatullah al-Korani) In his book detailing the time of the emergence of Imam alMahdi (as), he speaks about one of the Hadith that narrate about the 12 Mahdis (pbut). Sheikh Ali alKorani al’Aamili (1944- ): ‘Asr alThuhoor, p.332-333

  • And the belief in the Raj’a[return] even if it not essential in Islam, nor essential to the Shia school of thought, meaning that voiding the belief in it does not enter the human out of the Ahlulbayt (pbut) school of thought, nor out of Islam. However our Hadith informs us with many reliable [narrations] that it is obligatory to believe in it. And some of them mention that the Raj’a[return] will begin after the rulership of Imam Mahdi (as) and the rulership of the eleven Mahdis from the progeny of Imam Hussain (as), as such in Ghaiba alTusi p.299 from Imam alSadiq (as) he said: “From us after the Qaim are eleven Mahdis from the progeny of alHussain (as).”

Sayed Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr (also known as Ayatullah Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr) Sayed Baqir al-Sadr was an avid believer in the 12 Mahdis (pbut) and described them in his book “The Pharoanic Society”, which is a written account of his lectures. Sayed Muhammad Baqer alSader (1933-1980): AlMujtama’ alFara’owni, p.175, Door.4, Part.3

  • AlMahdi (a.s) will destroy all the reasons of corruption and deviation, and on top of that is the oppression and tyranny. He will establish a society of justice and tranquility, and will draw for it curriculums regarding all areas of the humanistic life.
And then after him will come twelve Khaliphas (rulers), who will walk with the people by these curriculums that were placed by the authority of the Hujja AlMahdi(a.s). And during the period of the Wilaya (guardianship) of the twelve Khaliphas(rulers), the society will be in a quick-moving process towards perfection and progress. And the human will be in a [high] standard of knowledge and character and will not need a watcher [like police] except for Allah the al-Mighty.
And at this time the notice will be fulfilled [which is] the Earth will be inherited by the righteous, the al-Mighty said: {And We have written in the Zuboor (scripture) after the remembrance that the Earth shall be inherited by My righteous servants. In this is surely a notice for the worshipping servants.

Sayed Muhammad Muhammad Sadiq al-Sadr (also known as Ayatullah Muhammad Sadiq al-Sadr) Sayed Sadiq al-Sadr was a firm believer in the 12 Mahdis (pbut). There is a video of him mentioning them in one of his sermons recorded on youtube. But the more significant mention is inside his book “History of [things to take place] after the re-appearance”. Sayed Muhammad Sadiq alSader (1943-1999): Tareekh ma Ba’ad alThuhoor, Section.3, Door.1, p.646

  • And from here the Imam (Mahdi a.s) will undertake the task of assigning the Wali/Guardian of his Promise or his Khalifa/successor, during his life and possibly in the last year in order that he (the successor) will be the chief leader to the Worldwide Nation of Justice after him (as) and the first ruler in the time of the rulership (of the righteous Guardians).
Albeit this ruler will be the best from the other eleven that will come after him considering that he is the outcome of Imam Mahdi (as) nurturing him personally and the contemporary to his sayings, actions and manners/way, unlike the [eleven] rulers that will come after him. …
The establishment (of the rulership of the righteous Guardians) in the minds [of the people] will be a profound establishment, however humanity will not be as perfect as the required level, thus [humanity] will run the risk of disobedience and rebellion in more than one area,

Sheikh Ali Namazi Shahrudi Sheikh Ali alNamazi (1915-1982): Mustadrak Safeenat AlBihaar, vol.10, p.516-517

  • Door of the Khalifas (successors) of the Mahdi (as) and his offspring and what will happen after him (as)
Book Kamal alDeen: From Abu Baseer who said: I told Al Sadiq, Ja’far Bin Mohammad (A.S): “O son of the Prophet, I once heard your father a.s saying that after the Qa’em there shall be twelve Mahdis”. Then AlSadiq (as) said: “Indeed, he said ‘twelve Mahdis’ and he did not say ‘twelve Imams’. They are from our followers (Shia), who shall call upon people to support us and who shall identify our right.”
I say (Sheikh Shahrudi): This is a clarifier for the intended by the narration from Abi Hamza and the narration of Muntakhab AlBasa’er and there is no confusion within it and others than it which indicate that after Imam alQaim(Riser a.s.) are 12 Mahdis, and they are the guiders (Mahdiyoon) from the successors of the Qaim/Riser, and they are Qaims/Risers by his matter, so that the epoch/time will not be empty from a Proof(Hujja). The speech of Allama alMajlisi is in the same manner [as this].

From the classical scholars

Sayed al-Shareef al-Murtadha The greatest scholar of his era. He was the student of Sheikh al-Mufeed and the teacher of Sheikh al-Tusi. He was asked about the Imamate [leadership] after Imam al-Mahdi (as) in which he replied that there are others after him (as), and that there are no issues about this concept. Sayed alShareef alMurtadha (966-1044): Rasa’il alShareef alMurtadha, vol.3, p.145-146

  • Sayyed alShareef alMurtadha was asked about the case of the Imamat (leadership) after Imam alZamaan (as), so he said: When the school of thought is knowledgeable that in every age/time it is never empty from an Imam (leader) who takes care of repairing the religion and conciliating [between] the Muslims, and we do not have authentic evidence that the emergence of the Qaim (as) corresponds to the end of the assignment [of leaders by Allah swt], then the age/time after him (as) will not be empty from having a an Imam/leader in it whose obedience is obligatory, or will not be [obligatory].
Thus if we said: there exists an Imam after him then we shall exit out of the saying that we are Twelvers; however if we didn’t say that there is an Imam after him then we would have made void the origin(Asel) which is the pillar of the creed, and it is shameful to empty the age/time without an Imam.
… And saying this does not exit us out of being named with “The Twelvers”, because this name is given to those who confirm the Imamat/leadership of the twelve Imams and we [indeed] confirm this and there is no one more suitable for this school of thought other than us.

Sheikh al-Tabrisi al-Noori (also known as Mohadith Mirza al-Noori) A prominent scholar of his time. He was convinced without a shadow of the doubt that Imam al-Mahdi (as) will have children. So he reported 12 narrations, many of which mention the 12 Mahdis (pbut). We will only relay one which is the Will of Prophet Muhammad (pbuhap). Sheikh Hussain alTabrisi alNoori (1830-1902): Najm alThaaqib, vol.2, p.68 and p.71

  • As of yet, no one has considered leaving this as one of the characteristics of Imam Mahdi (as) (i.e. [no one has considered] Imam Mahdi a.s. will not have children and wives). We are convinced [that he will] by the mention of [the following] twelve reports/narrations:

Ninth Report: Sheikh alTusi narrated, with a considerable Sanad[chain of narrators], on behalf of Imam alSadiq (as), a report mentioning in it a Will of the Messenger of Allah (pbuhap) to the Prince of the Believers (as) at the night of his death and a section of it says: “When Allah receiveth him (Imam Mahdi a.s), let him hand it over to his son, the first of the Close Ones, …”.

Sheikh al-Mufeed Sheikh al-Mufeed is one of the three or four top classical scholars of the Shia sect. He mentions that if Allah (swt) wills, the son of Imam al-Mahdi (as) will rise after him (as). However he leaves this only as a possibility and says that we must ask Allah (swt) for guidance concerning it. Sheikh alMufeed (948-1022 A.D): Irshad, vol.2, p.387

  • And there will be no nation/government for anyone after the Qaim’s (as) nation except from what has come to us from the narrations talking about the rise of his (as) son if Allah (swt) wills for this, and it is not mentioned with assertion and firmness, and many narrations say that the Mahdi (as) will not leave this Ummah [Muslim nation] until 40 days before Day of Judgment in which there will be commotion, and one of the Signs is the emergence of the dead [from their graves], and the rise of the Hour for reckoning or retribution. And Allah (swt) Knows best what will happen, and He is the Guardian who gives success to the righteous [servants], and we ask Him for protection from misguidance, and we seek guidance through Him towards the path of enlightenment…”

Sheikh al-Sadooq Sheikh al-Sadooq is a prominent scholar of his time. He gives the possibility of an Imam to come after Imam Mahdi (as). Sheikh alSadooq (918-990 A.D): Kamal alDeen waTamam alNi’ma, p.77

  • The number of Imams (pbut) is Twelve, the Twelfth one will fill the Earth with Justice and Equity, then after him will come what he will mention of an existence of an Imam after him (as) or it will be the Day of Judgment and we are not restricted concerning this except to confirm the Twelve Imams as a belief of what the Twelfth Imam (as) will mention after him.

Salsalams, this is really valuable information to have when dealing with people who are closely tied to the scholars. Sometimes they can’t see past the self-appointed scholars to the real scholars of the Ahlu Bayt a.s. This infomation is so clear and will give the people who are connected with the scholars something to see and think about. Allah yurdah alayk!
